Sindh Floods Wreak Havoc: Hundreds of Homes Swept Away in Tharparkar & Dadu
MITHI/DADU – Continuous monsoon downpours have devastated several parts of Sindh, leaving rural communities in Tharparkar and Dadu districts struggling to survive. On Tuesday, hundreds of straw-mud houses were washed away as widespread flooding cut off villages, damaged key roads, and forced families to seek refuge in safer areas.
According to official reports, Tharparkar has recorded 1,150mm of rainfall between September 4 and 9. Nagarparkar topped the list with 305mm, followed by Diplo (261mm), Kaloi (191mm), Mithi (173mm), Islamkot (158mm), Chachro (42mm) and Dahli (20mm). These torrential rains have filled small dams to capacity but also submerged vast stretches of rural land.

Rural Communities Stranded
Floodwaters have damaged both main and link roads in Nagarparkar, leaving several communities isolated. Villagers remain trapped as communication routes are blocked by deep water. In Diplo, floodwater entered the taluka and town hospitals, forcing administrations to move patients to safer facilities.
