MULTAN/MUZAFFARGARH/ISLAMABAD – September 2025:

500,000 Cusecs at Head Muhammad Wala
Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sindhu reported that nearly 500,000 cusecs of water from Head Trimmu had reached Head Muhammad Wala, intensifying flood pressure in Sher Shah and Jalalpur Pirwala. Authorities have warned that if pressure increases further, Sher Shah Road may be breached.
Over the past 24 hours, more than 2,000 residents were evacuated, while five new relief camps were established to shelter displaced families. Sindhu cautioned that the next 24 hours remain critical, urging residents in riverine areas to move to safer zones immediately.
Shershah Bund at Risk
Senior police officials, including CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar and RPO Sohail Chaudhry, visited Shershah Bund to review ongoing evacuation and relief work. Officials said the bund may need to be breached deliberately if water levels continue to rise. Police assured locals that all resources are being utilized to protect lives and property, with relief teams working round the clock.
Embankment Breach in Alipur
In Alipur (Sitpur area), a government protective embankment collapsed, allowing floodwaters to enter several nearby villages. The breach cut off road links between Sitpur and Alipur city, raising severe flooding risks in Sultanpur, Kundai, and Khairpur.
Meanwhile, at Trimmu Barrage, the water outflow was reported at 499,986 cusecs, while Head Panjnad recorded a dangerous flow of 452,930 cusecs. Irrigation officials noted a slight decline at Trimmu but warned that high flood conditions persist downstream.
